The 8th Day is the newest “blockbuster” adult film by Adam & Eve.  It is epic, and by that I mean long.  It has two disks for the film itself with over 4 hours of “action” and 9 hours of DVD extras on two other disks.  It has also been getting some great reviews including the coveted XCritic Pick and is currently the “#1 Adult Movie in America”.

This is a porn with plot film.  If you are more of a gonzo guy or girl, you won’t like this film.  However, if your favorite films are Pirates or Fashionsitas, you may get into it.  I happen to love Pirates and Fashionistas, but had a different reaction to this film.

Plot

Modeled after the post-apocalyptic dystopian actions films of the 70s like Mad Max and Tank Girl, The 8th Day features Kayden Kross, a Barbie-doll blonde with fake tits in the lead role of Samantha who awakens from a cryogenic slumber to find the world has been destroyed by technology and is now a nomad’s wasteland with warring tribes of survivors.  Turns out it was her father—a scientist and the guy who put her into suspended animation—that is responsible for destroying the world.  So Sam goes out into the now near deserted LA and wanders around for a long, long, time, occasionally finding deformed humans to have sex with or run away from.

She is then kidnapped, but quickly rescued by scavenger Mel (Amber Rayne) and taken to a desert oasis called Elysium Fields where the inhabitants down technology and follow enigmatic leader, Prince Amir.  However, once Amir–whose real name is Dave–finds out it was her father who destroyed the earth, Sam is strapped to a cross and sacrificed to die in the desert.  The end.

Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?!  While the premise of this film is cool, and the setting, costuming and special-effects make-up stand-out including the awesome tribal tattoos that most of the adult performers sport, the film is slow, long, and the sex scenes mediocre to bad.

Rather than bore you with a scene-by-scene breakdown, I’ll talk about the one scene that really shines starring Amber Rayne with Cheyne Collins and Sledge Hammer.  Amber Rayne who was awarded the 2009 AVN Unsung Starlet of the Year award, is amazing.  Not only is she a believable actress which is hard to find in the adult industry, she has lots of other talents.  She really takes on these two guys who are supposed to “cleanse her” of bad technology from her wanderings in the city.  She is the most enthusiastic and skilled cocksucker I’ve ever seen on screen.  And, while I’m not usually into cock-sucking scenes, she had me riveted.  She chokes and gobbles down two cocks back and forth with an animated “Ha!” each time she goes back down and stuffs these huge cocks down her throat like they were putty.  She also is amazing at anal (something she is known for) and DP as well, and these guys can’t get enough of her.  They are crazed as she orders them to give her their cocks and she drives them wild.

I didn’t bother watching the extras, because it took four hours of monotonous “action” to watch the feature, and I only have so much time I can spend on a review of a product that in the end, bored the hell out of me.  This is of course my opinion, and you may enjoy the film like so many other reviewers did.  It is definitely worth it to see Amber Rayne’s scene and I suspect she will win another AVN award for this one.

Misty debuts as a fantastic pervert at a party orgy, where Dr. Love humiliates her in public by taking credit for her newly acquired skills.  Misty gets fed up with Love and splits, but then returns to surprise suck/fuck him as one of his maids.  Meanwhile, Love can’t forget about Misty and is perhaps wishing he had treated her better?  The end of the film shows Misty transformed into the “teacher” and Dr. Love as her slave in chains of bondage in an “ironic” twist.

If you are into retro porn, The Opening of Misty Beethoven is a classic, more so for its “porn with plot” than titillating sex scenes, though.

With such a catchy title like “Atomic Vixens: Escape from the Valley of the Sluts“, the promise of sexy super heroines out to cure Viagra limpy dicks with their superpowers of seduction, and a retro “Austin Powers”-styled aesthetics, I had the feeling I was in for something a little bit different, and I was not disappointed. Atomic Vixens rocks! And here’s why.

All star cast of sexy alt girls including Jade Star, Justine Joli and Mika Tan. These girls are hot, know how to perform and are excellent in this film. Great film aesthetics including set design, costumes, hair and make-up is outstanding and sets the whole mis-en-scene into a believable faux retro atmosphere. Someone should have won an award for this. Groovy tunes and psycho-billy rock that sets an upbeat feel for the scenes, making them that much more fun to watch. A fairly silly, fun storyline using comic inserts between scenes and voice-over dialogue to move the scenes along. Excellent lighting, camera work/angles and exception quality of the DVD. Most important, are the hot sex scenes where the sexy vixens really shine.

Scene One with Jade Starr and Mika Tan is a pretty sexy girl-girl scene. The girls are uber sexy and hot (love the big hair), and there is some great double-dildo action at the end with a glass two-ended dildo. There is some interesting sushi eating at the beginning (not the kind you are thinking) which is something a bit different. Some great birds-eye-view shots of the scene from above as well as great angles and close-ups through-out the scene.

Scene Two with Justine Joli is the sexiest solo scene I have ever seen. She is a little sex kitten and smiles at the camera the whole time she is seducing you. TV parodies are the big thing these days in porn, with big companies producing retro porn TV show spoofs from the 70s and 80s like Happy Days, The Partridge Family, The Brady Bunch, Three’s Company, and Bewitched.  And, why not?  These porn spoofs are all the rage, because making fun of 70s and 80s pop culture is very amusing.

And, while I like all of the above, I must admit I am a die-hart Trekkie.  Ya, I love Captain Kirk and Spock (cool ears, I wonder what his cock looks like?) and all the groovy outfits and girls with big hair.  I’m not so weird like my brother and go to cons dressed up in character, although I admit I have been tempted.  But, I don’t think your measure of fan-hood needs to include dressing up in silly costumes in public.  I prefer to be a private cult devotee and masturbate to my fantasies.  In fact, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve masturbated to the idea of being gang-banged by the guys in Nex Gen…  But, that’s another story, and hopefully another porn spoof in the making.

In “This Aint Star Trek XXX” the crew has a mission “to boldly go where no cock has gone before.”  Sweet!  You can see right away how Star Trek was made to become a porn.  Unfortunately, they don’t seem to use all those nifty one-liners enough.  For instance, I’m sure something could have been done with “Bone’s boner” or “Spock’s cock”, but these and other opportunities never emerge.  Evan Stone hams it up quite a bit behind-the-scenes and if the director had of been paying attention, he should have added some of Stone’s adlibbed lines to the script.  Stone is the perfect Captain Kirk, to be sure and he even got his lovely locks shorn for the part, but I feel the direction was very “stiff” (and not in a good way) which held Stone and the other cast members back a lot.  The director, Axel Braun, seemed more concerned with getting the atmosphere and production quality right (which he does amazingly well) rather than the comedic aspects that could and should have been emphasized.  In all fairness, he didn’t write the script, and it is hard to write comedy.  Maybe they should have let Evan Stone write it?

And, while “This Aint Star Trek” was a let down in that way, it excelled in every other department.  The cast is stellar and the sex rocks.  Stone is amazing as Kirk and has Shatner’s abrupt stuttering swagger down.  I really hope Shatner gets a chance to check out his performance.  Tony DeSergio is a pretty good Spock, even with his British accent.  Jenna Haze is the perfect cock-devouring alien love slave, and Sasha Grey makes for a sexy Vulcan undergoing “pon farr”, the Vulcan equivalent of unrepressed sexual passion.  Jada Fire is the hottest Uhura in her three-way with Stone and DeSergio, perhaps the best scene in the film (or a close runner up with Sasha Grey and Stone’s scene).  Nick Manning plays Khan and over-acts quite a bit, but it was somewhat appropriate to the role, I guess.

This 2 set DVD also has “a blooper reel” and “behind-the-scenes” as well as three bonus scenes from other films featuring Sasha Grey, Jenna Haze and Aurora Snow.

Overall, I enjoyed “This Aint Star Trek” quite a bit and look forward to watching some of the other spoofs, like “Not The Bradys XXX” (review coming soon).  Although I was hoping for more comedy and silly dialogue, the sex was great, and I guess that is all you can ask for in mainstream porn these days.

I have seen many films by Eon McKai in the past including Art School Sluts, the Kill Girl Kill Series 1-3, Neu Wave Hookers and Girls Lie.  I understand what it is McKai is trying to do with his films, which is to subvert mainstream with his own altporn aesthetic, yet many of the afore mentioned are only window dressing for otherwise formulaic gonzo.  However, “On My Dirty Knees” starring Andy San Dimas is the film that McKai has been aspiring make and he does so fantastically.

The film is stylized as a DIY docu-porn and is a semi-biographical / mainly fictional tale of a beauty-school drop-out (Andy San Dimas) who fucks her way out of small town suburbia, using porn as her get-out-of-monotony-free card.  Most of the scenes feature Andy with two appearances by Violet Skye.  The sex is raw, grungy and seriously hot.

Scene 1- Andy San Dimas & Vin Vericose

Andy gets it on with real-life lover Vin Vericose as they enjoy a midnight make-out session in various locations including an overpass over a busy freeway and a behind-the-store parking lot. Thank you to Blowfish.com for sending me the latest in Pink and White Production’s “Crash Pad Series Volume 4“.  If you’ve read my other reviews of Pink and White films and the Crash Pad series (Champion, Unlocked, Crash Pad Series, Volume 1 and Superfreak), you will know that I love/lust these films.  Each film is different and offers something unique and diverse, which to me is what independent porn is all about.  Sure, if you have a great formula (and Pink & White does) serve it up again and again, but it is always cool to try something a bit different too and throw that into the mix.

What’s different about Volume 4?  Well, there’s a lot more Top/bottom D/s play in this film, more so that the others, which is super fucking hot.  I love girls/bois/femmes/dykes getting it on hardcore and real, but I especially love it when a bit of domination is thrown in for good measure.  It creates a whole new dynamic in the sex, which for me makes it sizzle.  And, look forward to some new faces in this film as well!

Here’s the Scene-by-Scene Play

Scene 1- Brooklyn Flaco and Carson

Nina Hartley’s guides are either hit or miss.  There is usually always good advice in them, but sometimes the production quality is low and the editing can be awkward.  It also seems that the performers only get once chance to get their lines right, which takes away from the credibility.  Nina is usually always “on”, but her co-stars sometimes have a few problems with the speaking parts.  This is not the case with “Nina Hartley’s Guide to Erotic Bondage“, however. Carmen Luvana is a great co-host in this DVD, and her Puerto Rican accent is charming.  You can tell that she is reading the lines, but she doesn’t miss her cues.

Like all of Nina’s guides, this one starts out with an instructional intro chat between Nina and her co-host. Nina and Carmen discuss why you would want to experiment with bondage, fantasies and pop culture that make bondage intriguing, as well as consensuality and safety.  They never really get into the types of restraints you can play with during bondage, including rope! which was disappointing.  This DVD is very, very basic.  The only types of restraints they use are cuffs, a collar and Carmen has an arm bracer on during her sex scene with Tommy Gunn.  I really thought Nina would have spent more time on types of restraints, even as an introduction.  So, the DVD description of “Join your host Nina Hartley and her sexy guests as you ‘learn the ropes,’” is a bit misleading as they never actually use ropes at all.

After the chat, Nina demonstrates bondage on Randy Spears.  First they negotiate the scene, which is great as it demonstrates how couples or play partners might really approach this.  Randy is a big sweetheart of a man and thoroughly adorable.  It is pretty hot seeing him pull against the restraints like a Herculean hero.  Nina has a great dungeon and it would have been cool to get a bit of a tour and have her describe some of the nice bondage furniture she has.  She binds Randy to a bondage board and starts teasing and playing with him.  She rubs his cock with her nylon-encased feet and this seems to turn Randy on quite a bit.  The scene is very playful and they definitely have some hot chemistry together.  Later, they go through various positions on a bondage bed, but Randy isn’t really restrained, except for wearing cuffs, which seemed to be more of an impediment to the sex.  Still, the sex is hot as they perform oral (Randy is a pro at this and so is Nina), vaginal penetration and finish off with anal (Nina’s favorite).  I like that Nina shows the use of gloves for penetration with fingers and lubricant for anal to illustrate proper safety considerations, instead of fantasy ideals.

Next up is Carmen and Tommy Gunn.  I thought this scene would have great given how hot Carmen and Tommy are. They both have bodies to die for and are sexy as hell.  But, Tommy really never takes charge and seems a bit lost as to what to do with Carmen once he has her bound.  The sex isn’t bad, and Carmen is very vocal repeating something in her Spanish tongue over and over that is hot, but Tommy doesn’t seem to get into it as much.  And, again the bondage is so basic, it really didn’t add much to the sex.  It would have been cool to have a little bit of playful power play in here, but that never happens.

I would have enjoyed this DVD much better if there had of been more emphasis on the bondage showing different types, various scenarios and equipment.  For me, bondage also means a loss of freedom of movement, which wasn’t always the case here. This DVD is more for people who have never tried bondage and may be curious, and is much more about the sexual aspect.

I am looking forward to reviewing “Nina Hartley’s Guide to Bondage Sex” however, as it has Claire Adams (bondage queen!) and is mostly likely what I was hoping for in this one.  Also, I have wanted to watch some of Nina’s Private Sessions, which look more kinky and free than her guides.

Champion-the latest release from Pink and White productions and Blowfish video-is Shine Louise Houston’s most ambitious, sophisticated film to date.  Houston has taken real lesbian porn to the next level with this feature-length dramatic narrative featuring an engaging plot, excellent acting and dialogue by its cast (most notably Syd Blakovich aka Shawn), with all the authentic hot queer sex that her films are renowned for.

Syd Blakovich plays mixed martial artist Jessie Eaton who is blackmailed by nemesis Bobby Malone (Javier) into loosing the fight of her career.  Jessie’s manager Tiny (played by Dylan Ryan) tries her best to make Jessie conform to a straight-laced girly persona, by forcing her conceal her boyish good looks in short skirts and glitter make-up.  Rumor has it that Jessie is in fact a rakish dyke and lover of women who fucks just as well as she fights.  But, if her corporate sponsors find out, Jessie’s career is finished.  To make matters worse, Jessie is in lust with her rival opponent Violet Vahn (Dallas) who promises to give Jessie the fight (and possibly fuck) of her life, if she doesn’t wimp-out and throw the fight.  With so much hanging in the balance, what’s a poor dyke to do?

The film features some authentic fight scenes featuring Syd (Jessie) who is a featured champion on Kink.com’s Ultimate Surrender as Syd Blakovich.  Jessie is super buff and hot as she throws herself into her training, doing push-ups and sit-ups and drinking tones of sports drinks to keep up her stamina in both the ring and the bedroom.  And, believe me, she needs all the stamina she can get with countless lesbian lovers who demand her skillful sexual prowess.

First to fall victim to her magic touch is lovely Madison Young.  Madison is always hot and uninhibited, and Jessie is a compelling adversary as she aggressively tops Madison into submission.   With the usual weapons: tongue, hands, fingers and a sexy strap-on; Jessie plays Madison like a finely tuned instrument, compelling symphonic squeals and groans from her as she quivers with wild abandon.  At moments Madison’s pleasure seems close to agony it is so intense.  This scene sizzles with raw energy and irresistible chemistry to produce the one of hottest lesbian sex scenes ever.  Syd and Madison rock it and are sure to get some shiny butt plug awards for their efforts.

Next up is Syd’s real-life lover Jiz Lee as on-screen ex-girlfriend Cathy Summers who is sick of playing the back-up go-to girl when Jessie’s other fuck dates fall through.  In the midst of Jessie’s skillful manipulations, Cathy can’t help but fall under her enigmatic spell.  This scene moves to the tempo of a tribal drum and builds to a crescendo as Cathy is double-fisted and experiences a beautiful, tear-wrenching orgasm.  This is certainly one of the couple’s best onscreen performances to date, which isn’t an easy choice as they are always fantastic together.

But, Jessie isn’t the only one having all the fun.  Looks like her manager Tiny has betrayed her for her nemesis Bobby as the two sport strap-ons in the back of a van and fuck each other silly.  The scene is intercut between Jessie watching play-backs of her fights as she contemplates throwing the upcoming match, and the action between Tiny and Bobby.  The juxtaposition of the scenes draws a correlation between fucking and fighting, both as a savage passionate dance.

In the final sex scene, Jessie meets her match with sexy challenger Violet, who shows she can rival her skills as a fighter and a lover.  I really loved Dallas (Violet) in the last Crash Pad film by Houston, and she is amazing here as she takes control of Jessie and teaches her a few things about the pleasures of surrender.  In the end, Jessie learns it doesn’t matter whether you win or loose, as long as you get the girl.

Champion is by far Houston’s best work to date.  It is much more refined in terms of cinematography-under the skill of Mr. Pam-who uses a selective depth-of-field focus that makes the movie more filmatic.  The story, action and dialogue are excellent and there is seamless integration between the narrative and the sex.  As with all of Houston’s films, the sex is authentic, passionate and intense, with skillful editing that makes you believe you are watching it uncut in real-time.  Champion could be Houston’s “magnum opus” if it were not for all the other great future films she is sure to bring us.  One thing is for certain, Houston’s films are only getting bigger and better each time.

The Fashionistas is a super-fantastic, epic length, fetish fucking extravaganza.  I have read the hype about The Fashionistas for years: Winner of 11 AVN Awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Actress (Rocco Siffredi and Taylor St. Claire), Best Cinematography, and Best Music; and I’ve been coveting this film ever since.  Could a mainstream porno live up to my S/m/fetish expectations?  For a film that normally retails at $80 a pop, is it worth it?

Well, yes, and Yes!  First of all, Fashionistas is over four hours long.  That’s four and a half hours worth of banging and latex-wearing fucking, spanking, rough hardcore sex scenes, realistic dominance and submission scenes, anal, oral, threesomes, foursomes and more-somes.

John Stagliano (Buttman-Evil Angel-King of Gonzo) filmed the movie in 35mm, which translates to a pure quality feature-length film that is in the same class of distinction as any mainstream film on the market.  The entire production quality is really amazing from picture to sound to editing.  The DVD set features 4 DVDs: two of the film (because it is really that long), one behind-the-scenes DVD, and a cool DVD soundtrack.  No expense was spared for the production of this film and Fashionistas is surely one of the most ambitious porns ever filmed.

Story line:

Rocco Siffredi plays Italian fashion designer Antonio who comes to American for inspiration to promote a new line of fetish fashions and ends up getting more than he bargains for.  Given that alone you can imagine the beautiful latex that is seeping out of this film.  This is any latex enthusiast’s wet dream come true.  He is sent a strange promotional DVD by Fashionista, an American fetish clothing company who pushes the boundaries of fashion into an S/m aesthetic.  Hidden within the DVD is a special bonus scene of sadistic S/m rituals that totally enthralls Antonio and catches his attention.  The DVD’s designer and Fashionista employee is the amazing Belladonna playing shy and geeky Jessie.  But, Jessie is not as shy and geeky as she leads Antonio and everyone else to believe.  She’s got one objective in mind and his name is Antonio.  Soon she is vying for Antonio’s attention against her boss lady, Helena (Taylor St. Clair) who plays an assertive Dominatrix who even tops Antonio in a couple of scenes.  Helena is wicked as a hardcore bitch and her performance as an aggressive Top really comes across.

Soon Antonio is lead into their lair of debauchery: underground fetish clubs and dungeons where all manner of sadomasochism is performed onscreen. What follows is three hours of outrageous fuckery, crazy kink, foot worship and pinking, face sitting and smothering, face slapping and spitting, flogging and spanking, and bondage as well as hardcore sex performances such as oral deep-throating, lots of anal, and every position possible including amazing pile-drivers by Rocco.

By the end of the film, Jessie wins Antonio’s affections, over her boss Helena who is outraged.  Jessie stands up to Helena and Antonio finds out that the amazing line of fetish fashions he has been coveting was in fact designed by Jessie, who has received no credit.

The quality of this film is fantastic and the acting superb.  With twelve scenes of hardcore S/m play there is lots to watch in this film over and over again.  Plus, there is a real story that is fairly entertaining to watch, just in itself.  The Extra DVD contains over a half hour of extra footage, a two hour documentary, photo galleries, as well as hidden scenes, just like in the film.  The Fashionistas is an amazing feature-length filmic marathon that effectively unites hardcore adult porn with realistic fetish S/m action.  One of the best films I have seen do this since Caligula (1979).  This film is a must-have for fetish aficionados.
