Bride of Sin is Madison Young’s third directorial film in which she explores the sadomasochistic eroticism of Catholic symbolism.  In the film Madison plays a naughty bride-to-be who is not quite ready to take her vows of monogamy when she cheats on her fiancé Selina Raven.  She may be blushing, except it is not due of her purity, but from the penance she must pay to Father Claire Adams for her sinful whoring ways.

The film begins at Madison’s bachelorette party where she commits her first sinful act by having sex with her Maid of Honor, Ariel X.  Ariel gives Madison a little lap dance and seduces her into sin.  The scene features a bit of face slapping, dildo play, and foot worship which Madison seems quite fond of.  In the following scene, the pair go to the wedding rehearsal at the church, but never make it out of the pew.  The scene features a lot of sexy kissing, strap-on sex, and doggie-style anal.  The scene ends with Madison binding Ariel in rope and eagerly sucking her pussy.

Selina Raven, Madison’s bride to be dominates Madison in the next scene spanking her pale full ass, tying her up and using her strap-on to violate her aching pussy, then ends by dunking Madison’s face in the toilet.  Obviously, she knows what that naughty slut of hers has been up to and is not pleased.  I liked the energy in this scene and wished it had of been a bit longer.

The film climaxes when Madison realizes she must go confess to Father Claire Adams.  This is the film’s crowning thorn of glory as Madison must atone for her sins like a modern day fem-Christ.  She is first cleansed in holy water and then Claire shaves her pussy to rid her of her filth.  Next Madison is suspended upside-down, her head repeated dunked in a large bucket of holy water.  Finally, Madison is strung up like a crucified Jesus, undergoes flagellation by Claire’s flogger, and finally hot red wax is poured on her naughty deceitful sex like a bloody stigmata.

Bdsm enthusiasts who enjoy Christian iconography with S/M play and bondage will especially enjoy this scene.  Claire Adams is fantastic as a strict and cruel disciplinarian who leads Madison eventually into salvation, but not before she makes her play for her sins with a pound of Madison’s blushing flesh.

Madison Young’s “Tail of a Bondage Model: Real Life Memoirs of a Rope Slut” was Madison’s second release as a director and like “Bondage Boob Tube”, her first release which won the 2008 Good For Her Feminist Porn Award for Hottest Kink Film, shows her budding potential as an artist and filmmaker. “Tail of a Bondage Model”-in the vein of her latest release “Perversions of Lesbian Lust“-is an autobiographical narrative that follows Madison’s journey into fetish as a professional bondage model.

The film is structured as a narrative, on one hand relating Madison’s story of love lost and the difficulty of maintaining a romantic relationship as a “sex” worker. On the other hand it is conceptional in nature as Madison uses symbolism and metaphor to illustrate her personal conflicts through surreal inner landscapes that she envisions throughout the film with voice over poetic dialogue from her written memoirs.

One of these is a recurring motif that opens the film. Madison is bound and suspended Shibari-style against a minimalist white backdrop. Beside her hangs, also a bound, a vintage typewriter which she struggles to touch, fondle and make love to, but which she can never quite reach. Madison explains the metaphor to sexologist Carol Queen and her partner Robert Lawrence in the director’s commentary, saying it is representative of her struggle in her relationship. As a writer who creates through words, the typewriter can also be viewed as a struggle for her own artistic freedom and independence: to break away and become what she is destined to be, one of the top bondage models in the industry.

The film features several scenes, some of them real footage from her bondage shoots, others reenactments of brief moments in her life with lover Gauge (Jiz Lee) in between the airports, motels and bondage shoots which she constantly pursues while on the road.

The first scene with Jiz Lee (Crash Pad Series) portrays Madison and Gauge in love, having sex in the kitchen. It features hot lesbian sex as well as hot wax play, ending with a voyeuristic view of Madison against the window looking in from the outside as she comes. The second scene with Jiz Lee is a fantasy scenario, “What if…” in which Madison imagines what it would be like if her lover punished her, a secret desire she would like to fulfill, and perhaps how it may have changed or saved the relationship. This scene is amazing as Gauge suspends jugs of gathered “tears” (from her years of sorrow living with Madison) from Madison’s clothes-pinned labia, then clothes-pins love notes over Madison’s chest. This was Jiz Lee’s first plunge in to sadomasochism and she performs brilliantly. Her dialogue is very natural as well, especially when she rips the clothes-pins off Madison’s chest after asking if Madison is going to stay home with her as promised and says “You’re damn right!”

Two other scenes are taken from Madison’s real life bondage sessions. The first is with Claire Adams, an expert rigger and sadomasochist who knows just how to push Madison’s buttons. The scene features some beautiful suspension bondage including snap-shots from the photographer that captures their intensity at dominance and submission. The other scene is with Madison’s real life partner, James Mogul, and also features expert Shibari suspension as Madison’s pussy is tortured by her Hitachi.

The final fantasy medical scene features sweet and sexy Lorelei Lee as a sadistic nurse who attempts to “cure” Madison of her “illness” and features forceps, clamped labia, and an internal examination in which Madison gives birth to hemp rope. Here, the rope is used as another metaphor, as Madison leaves her idealistic life with her lover to pursue her career and her new love affair as a rope slut.

This film is an artistic snapshot into a period of Madison’s life told through her eyes and will appeal to bondage enthusiasts who love Shibari, sadomasochists and fans of Madison Young.

“Crash Pad Series, Volume 2: Unlocked” returns to the secret apartment that started it all, and this time unlocks the door to new clandestine encounters between queer gender-bending dykes for some hot fucking, pussy banging action.

It includes scenes with performers from other Pink and White productions: real-life lovers Jiz Lee and Shawn with a new playmate Micah; Johnny (Crash Pad Vol. 1: see my review) with Legs; and Jake (Superfreak: see my review) with newcomer Wilder.  Jake is just as hot as in Superfreak and this scene with Wilder will rock your jock-straps as these bois bang each other, call each other faggots and masturbate their silicone cocks.  Johnny and Legs are two femmes who get it on with some fairly authentic fisting and strap-on play.  Jiz and Shawn never get to reach their usual height of sizzling action with Micah, who submits silently to their whim.

It’s hard to compete with Crash Pad Vol. 1 for authentic performances, raw intensity and the chemistry between the players.  However, Unlocked continues to push the boundaries and exceed expectations of porn for pussies by featuring some wicked hardcore, real lesbian action that is sure to make you cream your jeans or give your dildo a woody.  Get in while the door is still unlocked, as they are sure to throw away the key.

Madison Young is an amazing young woman. Not only is she a bondage model who runs her own companies Madison Bound and Tied4Sex, she is an outspoken queer feminist, a writer, an artist and is the Co-Founder and Film Curator of Femina Potens, a San Francisco non-profit art gallery and performance space whose mission is to bring greater visibility to women, trans, erotic, and queer artists. Madison Young also writes and directs her own films for DVD under the production labels Abigail Productions, Lesbian Life Productions and Madison Bound, with distribution under Girlfriend Films.

I was lucky enough to receive two review copies of Madison’s latest films: Lesbian Life: Real Sex San Francisco and Perversions of Lesbian Life, Vol. 1, the second of which I will review next week at Pop My Cherry.

Lesbian Life: Real Sex San Francisco has a great concept. Madison Young plays a writer for a “hip lesbian magazine and her monthly article is your guide to what is the next ‘it’”. Kind of the same premise as Sex in the City, minus the fluff and with a sexy, queer lesbian slant. Oh, and real sex in the city, not just girls trying to find boyfriends to complete their miserable lives or locking themselves away with vibrators cause they have no sex life anyway. This is real sex, real women, and real hot. According to Madison, “San Francisco is known for being a hot bed for lesbian and gay culture… city of lust, love and random sexual encounters that lead to explosive orgasms.” I’m so there!

Lesbian Life features performances from some of my favorite queer, gender-bending dykes: Jiz Lee, Shawn and Dylan Ryan. I have watched their sexcapades in Pink and White Productions films by director Shine Louise Houston (Crash Pad, Superfreak) and have become a big fan of their work. Of course, they don’t make it look like work at all. The film features four scenes in various dyke hang-outs around the Bay area: a public park, a bike mechanic shop, a tattoo parlor and a lesbian cafe.

Dolores Park: Jiz Lee and Lorelei Lee

The scene begins with cutely Jiz Lee swinging on the monkey bars and hanging up-side-down, a big cat-whose-about-to-eat-the-bird grin on her face. According to Madison’s voice-over, Dolores Park is “the local ‘Dyke Park’–the perfect place to take a girl… impress her with your monkey bar skills, picnic under Palm trees, and read love poetry by Rilke.” Cut to Jiz eating strawberries and feeding them to Lorelei Lee. It doesn’t take long for these girls to get their mojo on, despite worries of being caught having sex in public. Jiz and Lorelei are both excellent performers and get down to getting each other off. My only complaint with this scene is the sound quality. Music plays throughout the entire scene and you can’t hear the nuances of the sex: the muffled moans and juicy sex sounds are non-existent. The music also doesn’t really match the outdoor atmosphere, or the jive of the performers. I found the music distracting and it removed me from the performances, so therefore, despite how hot this scene could have been, I couldn’t get into it because of that. Luckily, this is not the case with the rest of the film.

Charlie’s Place: Lorelei Lee and Shawn

Now, this is a place I’d like to hang out. Charlie’s Place is a greasy bike mechanic shop and Shawn is the resident grease monkey. Lorelei’s car has broken down outside the shop and Shawn gallantly comes to her assistance. Not to fix her car, however, but to fix her libido. The scene starts out with a bang right away and Shawn tops Lorelei, pushing her up against a workbench. It’s not long before Shawn has Lorelei worked into a crazy frenzy and then plops her down on the floor to really give it to her good. In the spirit of the previous scene, the tempo is fast and furious, the chemistry incredible and the sex is orgasmic. Shawn finally ejaculates on the drawing of the tattoo, deciding after all that sex was a better fix for a broken heart. I watched this scene several times and came every time. Wicked!

Ritual Cafe: Jiz Lee and Dyan Ryan

Jiz and Dylan are online, having cyber-sex with each other, when they decide to meet in person and the local lesbian hang-out Ritual Cafe. Once they meet, Dylan suggests “my place” and off they go. This film is outrageously hot with authentic sex scenes by real lesbians and dykes who like to fuck hard and nasty. Great chemistry between all the performers as well as hot fisting, strap-on, squirting and cunninglingus action, make this film a must see for real lesbians who want to get hot and bothered with real dyke porn. The filmmaking is beautiful, excellent camera shots and angles at sexy locations. I am very excited about reviewing Perversions of Lesbian Life, Vol. 1 and seeing more of Madison’s films. She is certainly a talented director and one to watch! The only disappointment about the film is that Madison is not in it long and she doesn’t have sex in it, but just teases us in her hot little dress. Oh, did I mention she is way hot?

I love Nina Hartley and it is always a pleasure to receive and review one of her guides. Nina began her adult film career in 1984 with Educating Nina about the same time she received her nursing degree and has made 650 adult films since then. Although Nina has never worked as a nurse, she uses her skills to educate others in the porn industry. Daughter of Zen Buddhists and feminists, Nina adopted their philosophies and is an advocate of female sexual empowerment, believing that women should “take control over their own pleasure…” Nina has won several AVN Awards and has been inducted to the AVN Hall of Fame.

Nina Hartley began creating educational videos in 1996 with her first “how-to” DVD: “Nina Hartley’s Guide to Swinging”. She now has twenty-three guides in her repertoire including her latest three “Guide to Great Sex During Pregnancy” (2008), “Guide to Bondage Sex” (2008), and “Advanced Guide to Anal Sex for Men and Women” (2007). The guides are targeted towards couples who are interested in exploring the hedonistic pleasures of adventurous sex and cover a wide range of topics including spanking, strap-ons, female ejaculation, stripping, group sex, erotic massage and even foot fetishes. All of Nina’s guides are directed by her husband Ernest Greene.

“Nina Hartley’s Guide to G-spot Sex” (2005) is the eleventh sex guide in the series and features her usual format: Prologue Chat with Nina, Hands-on Demo, Feature Sex Scene, Bonus Scene, Interview with Nina, Behind the Scenes, as well as the usual Previews and Gallery.

Prologue Chat

In this guide, Nina recruits Carmen Luvana to chat about G-spot sex in a Q&A format in which Nina acts as educator. Nina knows her subject well, is articulate and enthusiastic. Unfortunately, poor Carmen has trouble stumbling over her dialogue. To be fair, I’m not sure how many takes Carmen had (I’m guessing one) so this may be a directorial problem, which doesn’t make sense since digital video is so cheap. Fortunately, I was too distracted by her hotness to really care. I was disappointed that Carmen is not in any of the sex scenes though, which was surprising since she’s the co-host. The coolest part about this segment, however, is that Nina uses a huge anatomical map of the female pelvis to enlighten the viewer on what the G-spot is and where it is located. Nina’s demonstration with the chart is enlightening and makes G-spot anatomy easy to understand.

Demo Scene

Nina and her sexy friend Melissa Lauren (Fashionistas: Safado 2007) are dressed in skin-tight PVC: Nina as a naughty nurse and Melissa as the patient in a gynecological chair. One of my favorite role-playing fantasies is nurse/patient so I absolutely loved this scene. Melissa Lauren is French and has a very sexy accent. Nina explains that the G-spot only reveals itself once a woman is turned on and commences foreplay on Melissa whose spread eagle in stir-ups. After a bit of foreplay and cunnilingus, Nina slips on latex gloves and gives Melissa an internal examination. This is where the scene really gets interesting. Nina inserts a speculum into Melissa’s vagina, showing viewers the spongy tissue of the G-spot. This is up-close-and-personal and you can really see the spongy tissue inflating like a little wrinkled balloon. Later, an anal speculum is inserted and Nina shows how the G-spot can be massaged indirectly through the anus with more subtlety, which Nina explains is her favorite way to stimulate herself. Nina then demonstrates various G-spot toys and the best positions for G-spot sex, using her strap-on, which includes missionary style, doggy style and the old reverse cowgirl.

Feature Sex Scene

After a brief intermission with Nina and Carmen, husband and wife team Nicole Sheridan and Voodoo take center stage. I have watched Nicole and Voodoo in other films by Nina and their performance here lacks their normal sizzle. Nicole pretends that they are exploring her G-spot for the first time, which requires suspending your disbelief. After all, she is a seasoned porn star. Because of this the scene craves their customary “wow” factor and their exceptional chemistry. They do, however, illustrate the best positions for G-spot sex, which is constructive.

Bonus Scene

I really don’t enjoy bonus scenes that don’t relate to the topic at hand. This one seems to have been thrown in for promo reasons from producers Adam & Eve. It is a scene from “University of Austyn” (2005) featuring a cheerleader going down on a geek and then sex in varying positions. I didn’t see a G-spot anywhere.

So should you buy this guide?

I would give this film 3 out of 5 cherries. There is definitely something to be learned here and the scene between Nina and Melissa is great, worth the price alone. For those who know little about finding their G-spot, this guide would be insightful. I appreciate that Nina spends time afterward in her interview talking about her own G-spot experiences and letting women know that every experience is different. Nina has never experienced female ejaculation, so advises women not to make ejaculation their ultimate goal, but to enjoy the journey of exploration and orgasm in itself. My only quip about the film is the sometimes amateurish quality: sound, cinematography, editing and dialogue. If Nina (or her partner Ernest Greene) could figure this stuff out I’m sure they’d make a million. Oh, wait, they already have.

The idea of pornographers with ethics and strong political convictions seems ridiculous to many people. After all, isn’t porn just about overly-tanned hedonism, driven by the desire to make a mint while surrounded by swarms of hot chicks who wouldn’t otherwise give you (assuming the portly, fiftyish male “you”) the time of day? Amateur and independent porn began getting buzz with the advent of the home video camera and the newly glorious ability it bestowed on the average electronics geek to film his or her pasty white ass bobbing up and down in a poorly lit guest bedroom in New Jersey (not to stereotype or anything). But it really took off in the early 2000s as the Internet began to emerge as the go-to place for sex businesses, especially homemade ones. More specifically, young, technologically inclined idealists began to turn to the Internet to create their visions of sex-positive culture online.

When the oft-cited Suicide Girls was launched in 2001, it positioned itself as a site of female-empowerment via Internet nudity. In subsequent years, this turned out to be a bit more complicated and maybe not really the way things were running behind the scenes. Still, there are independent pornographers whose hope for the empowering mojo of independent porn springs eternal. Opening Tuesday, May 1: The Second Annual Sex Worker Visions PLUS One Sex Work Nation Under Dildo

$pread magazine announces its second annual show of sex worker art, in a benefit art exhibition and silent auction, which will include an opening night gala gathering of sex workers and their allies. Sex Worker Visions will feature art work made by sex workers and/or about sex work ­”Sex work” can be interpreted broadly. Erotic images will not take precedence over non-erotic images, in either case, explicitness is welcome.

For the non-artists or otherwise creative types among us, $pread invites sex workers to paint, mutilate, or otherwise decorate sex toys for inclusion in our second annual exhibition of sex worker art. This part of the show, called One Sex Work Nation Under Dildo, will feature pieces from around the country that were painted during salons hosted by local sex positive shops. It’s an analysis of a 1987 Superman comic in which a brainwashed Man of Steel is forced to star in a porno film, directed by a very bad Jewish stereotype. (“Grossman”) What’s truly funny about it is that John Byrne, the guy who wrote and drew it, is known nowadays for whining about the depraved morality of modern superhero comics.
