JRE tied down Jersey Rope Experiment presents Tied Down!

A single day of rope classes, close instruction and a party to cap it off.

We have three great presenters, Lqqkout, Lochai, and Graydancer. They will each teach a class and they will each hold office hours so you can ask them more in-depth questions and get more directed learning.

The event will take place in central/north jersey. It will run from 10am until 6 pm with a break for lunch. Then a play party will happen afterwards at 8PM.

Tickets can be purchased online or in person at a reduced cost (no service fee). We will be selling the tickets at October’s JRE meeting as well as at pre-determined events/munches/parties (keep your eyes peeled on our forum).

Attendance will be capped to 60 people.

Additionally: JRE Board Members will be offering 101 level instruction for those just starting out or those who want to brush up on the basics.)

Finding Your Style

Shibari, Western, Japanese Style, Damsel in Distress, Bedroom Bondage – these terms are often used to describe different types of rope bondage, but what do they really mean for your playstyle? This workshop will begin with a discussion of the various dimensions of bondage styles including sample images and ties followed by a hands-on lab where we’ll explore the bondage styles or reconstruct as many ties as we have time for. Participants are encouraged to bring at least four 30-foot lengths of 6mm (1/4″) rope and their imaginations.

From classic wrist-to-ankle ties to full immobilization ties, this class will go over various ways to bind your partner in the most recognized position in bondage. The hogtie is on of the first ties many people learn when exploring bondage and it stays with you at every level. From Damsel in Distress (DID) to Japanese versions there will be something for every body type and flexibility level.

TIE ‘EM UP & FUCK ‘EM: Rope Bondage for the Impatiently Kinky

“I don’t do rope; it takes too long!” It’s a common refrain heard from people all over. This class aims to dispel that myth, with practical, speedy, and above all erotic techniques to bring rope into your kink. Fast body harnesses to improve your fucklife, methods of handling rope in a sensually effective way, and ideas for to keeping a scene hot from the first wrap to the last tangled ropegasm on the floor. Graydancer, host of the long-running Ropecast on the internet will share all the Great Secrets of Rope in his irreverent and engaging style. Whether you’re an experienced rigger, just took Basic Bondage, or are just curious about this whole “rope” thing, this class will have something in it to help you tie or be tied.

Body harnesses are fantastic for creating beautiful, effective, and sexy bondage for all types of bodies and many different sorts of scenes. You can use a harness for very secure rigging. Or you can make a pretty rope outfit. Create intense harnesses for pain sluts. How about sensual breast bondage? We’ll go through at least four different harnesses with plenty of time to practice. If time permits she’ll show you more!

Dress & Supplies: Wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement. Bring a large towel or yoga mat if you¹d like to use the floor. And, of course, bring rope – the more, the merrier! RopeShare: Imagining Bondage

In this installment of RopeShare, we’ll empower your imagination while playing with rope. Working in teams, using techniques you’ve already learned, plus some new ones, you will invent your own bondage positions and ties, with the support and encouragement of your instructors and fellow participants.

We promise that you will be challenged and enriched by this experience!

Bring lots of rope of all sizes, whatever you’ve got. Also, bring any props you might want to use: poles, dildos, cloth, etc., and your safety scissors.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

Kinky people of all genders and orientations are welcome! Participants must be over 18.

An evening of personal instruction with Midori

Three hours of concentrated private rope instructions to finesse your floor works skills with Midori. An evening designed for those tired of intro level rope classes … and seek more personalized instruction to get to the next level of ninja-like rope skills and scene creations.

Tops – Do you want to make your rope play more confident, smooth and intuitive? Have you encountered blocks in your play you want to over come? Do you want to learn cool and subtle tricks?

Bottoms – Want to work on going deeper and finding more pleasures?

Midori will work closely with each student to asses their needs and challenges. Based on each student’s needs she’ll provide the lessons, drills and exercises.

After the lesson there will be some fine Japanese refreshments and nosh to wind down the evening of rope pleasures and learning with socializing and conversations. Midori often ends up telling tales of adventure in Japan during these socials. (Sometimes lessons transition into play for some students during this social time. As long as you respect others’ space, Midori’s happy with that.)

WHO:
This experience will be limited to 5 pairs of students to create a environment of quality learning.  Please come as a pair. While you do not have to be a couple, you do need to have your exercise partner with you. This Dojo Elective is open to those who play at one or both ends of the rope.

You do not have to be a Rope Bondage Dojo graduate to attend.

BRING:
- Ropes
- Safely scissors
- Desire to improve
- Yoga mat or beach towel (Optional)

WHEN:
Instruction starts at 7pm. Door opens 6:45pm.
Instruction ends 10pm and transitions to food and refreshments until midnight or so.

Rope Share

The next Rope Share will be on March 20, 2011 from 1 PM to 4 PM. We’ll concentrate on full body harnesses. Any one of these ties is all that you need to make a person feel “tied up”, yet each of them can also serve as the foundation for more elaborate bondage.

We’ll work on four great ties:

  • The Alien Baby Harness
  • Master Mike’s Prisoner Harness
  • The Lightning Harness
  • & The Knitting Harness

For this Rope Share, you’ll need only one 50-foot length of rope (preferred), or two 25-foot lengths. We’ll give you plenty of time for hands-on practice, and each participant will get individual attention.

People of All Genders and Orientations are Welcome! Participants must be over 18.

Location: Greenwich St. (btwn Rector and Carlisle; three blocks south of the WTC site). The specific address will be emailed upon registration.

Cost: $25 per person

Rope Share is back!

This hands-on workshop will cover basics of rope handling, safety, and simple ties, and delve into harnesses, hogties and other topics depending on interest. Class size is kept to a small circle for friendly experimentation bondage and personal attention.

This event is open for leather women of all persuasions who enjoy woman to woman S/M. All S/M dykes, straight, bisexual and trans-sexual/gender women are welcome. FTM transgender bois/boys/men who feel they have a place in the S/M women’s community are also welcome. ABOUT grrlMEL: grrlMel has been dancing her whole life and teaching dance since 2004. Whether it’s West Coast Swing or Burlesque, she’s known for easy sensuality and her ability to connect to her dance partner and her audience. She focuses on teaching simple, sexy moves set to music (not dancing), to help you connect to your inner sensuality. I strive to provide a supportive environment where folks can relax, be gentle with themselves and gain confidence in expressing themselves through sensual motion.

ABOUT SARA: Sara Vibes was born and raised in New York City. She is a black, polyamorous, queer, kinky, Bi-dyke and an adopted daughter of a sex therapist who had specialized in sex and disability and was disabled herself. Sara knew she was poly when she remembered that her Ken doll dated all the Barbies! Sara is an active member in BDSM, LGBT, and Kink communities in New York City.

She is a founding member of Nina Hartley’s SexWise.me, a sex-positive online community. She currently works as a curator and contributor of SexWise Magazine and a moderator of the online forums. TES Fest  is the annual gathering for the BDSM and sex-positive communities to celebrate the steps TES‘s founding fathers took in 1971:  the opportunity to find our freedom.

Taking place over the Fourth of July weekend, TES Fest is the premiere event in the NYC Metro region for everyone (from amateurs to seasoned veterans) to socialize, learn new skills and simply have a great time. With classes and special events covering the gamut of topics and special interests, TES Fest allows people to explore, educate and entertain themselves in a healthy, safe and sane environment.

TES Fest 2010 will be held July 2-5, 2010 at a 3 star hotel in Piscataway, N. J. We will have the ENTIRE hotel for the weekend. There will be no shuttle buses to ride, everything all in the same place.
