Jersey Rope Experiment presents Tied Down!

A single day of rope classes, close instruction and a party to cap it off.

We have three great presenters, Lqqkout, Lochai, and Graydancer. They will each teach a class and they will each hold office hours so you can ask them more in-depth questions and get more directed learning.

The event will take place in central/north jersey. It will run from 10am until 6 pm with a break for lunch. Then a play party will happen afterwards at 8PM.

Tickets can be purchased online or in person at a reduced cost (no service fee). We will be selling the tickets at October’s JRE meeting as well as at pre-determined events/munches/parties (keep your eyes peeled on our forum).

Attendance will be capped to 60 people.

Finding Your Style

Shibari, Western, Japanese Style, Damsel in Distress, Bedroom Bondage – these terms are often used to describe different types of rope bondage, but what do they really mean for your playstyle? This workshop will begin with a discussion of the various dimensions of bondage styles including sample images and ties followed by a hands-on lab where we’ll explore the bondage styles or reconstruct as many ties as we have time for. Participants are encouraged to bring at least four 30-foot lengths of 6mm (1/4″) rope and their imaginations.

Hogties

From classic wrist-to-ankle ties to full immobilization ties, this class will go over various ways to bind your partner in the most recognized position in bondage. The hogtie is on of the first ties many people learn when exploring bondage and it stays with you at every level. From Damsel in Distress (DID) to Japanese versions there will be something for every body type and flexibility level.

Graydancer

TIE ‘EM UP & FUCK ‘EM: Rope Bondage for the Impatiently Kinky

“I don’t do rope; it takes too long!” It’s a common refrain heard from people all over. This class aims to dispel that myth, with practical, speedy, and above all erotic techniques to bring rope into your kink. Fast body harnesses to improve your fucklife, methods of handling rope in a sensually effective way, and ideas for to keeping a scene hot from the first wrap to the last tangled ropegasm on the floor. Graydancer, host of the long-running Ropecast on the internet will share all the Great Secrets of Rope in his irreverent and engaging style. Whether you’re an experienced rigger, just took Basic Bondage, or are just curious about this whole “rope” thing, this class will have something in it to help you tie or be tied.

Rope Share

The next Rope Share will be on March 20, 2011 from 1 PM to 4 PM. We’ll concentrate on full body harnesses. Any one of these ties is all that you need to make a person feel “tied up”, yet each of them can also serve as the foundation for more elaborate bondage.

We’ll work on four great ties:

The Alien Baby Harness
Master Mike’s Prisoner Harness
The Lightning Harness
& The Knitting Harness

For this Rope Share, you’ll need only one 50-foot length of rope (preferred), or two 25-foot lengths. We’ll give you plenty of time for hands-on practice, and each participant will get individual attention.

People of All Genders and Orientations are Welcome! Participants must be over 18.

Location: Greenwich St. (btwn Rector and Carlisle; three blocks south of the WTC site). The specific address will be emailed upon registration.

Cost: $25 per person

ROPE SHARE is a series of bondage workshops that are structured to fit your skill level and interests. There are two highly skilled rope instructors. The attendance will be limited to 12 students.

This is a lab-environment setting and we will practice on one another. Please be open to both tie and be tied for the sake of education. Please wear comfortable clothing as there is no nudity during the class.

BRING ROPE: 1 length of 50 ft. (preferred), or 2 lengths of 25 ft.; and safety scissors. Cotton, nylon, hemp, and jute are all fine.

Instructors’ Bios

TYUTUMI is a bondage enthusiast who has been teaching rope bondage since 2003. He received advanced training in Japanese-style bondage from Midori, and continues to study with her at every opportunity. A graduate of Midori’s Advanced Dojo, Tyutumi also studied with well-known rope artists at Shibaricon. He was a member of Gay Men SM Activists (GMSMA) for many years, serving on its Program Committee and presenting a number of GMSMA programs and workshops. He is a longtime member of the New York Bondage Club and Delta International. He has presented bondage demos and classes at The Eulenspiegel Society (TES), GMSMA, Mid-Atlantic Leather (MAL), The Museum of Sex, Rope Share and Delta. Tyutumi is the founder of the Rope Dojo of New York.

MASTER MIKE has been practicing Japanese rope bondage since 2006 and is a graduate of Tyutumi’s shibari class. His proficiency as a roper prompted an invitation to join Tyutumi’s monthly rope dojo, and he has been a valued instructor at Rope Share. He holds a certificate from Midori’s intensive Rope Bondage workshop. Master Mike completed the six-month GMSMA novices special interest group in 2006 and was an active member of GMSMA until 2009. He enjoys teaching others what he knows about rope and creating imaginative, safe bondage scenes. Master Mike’s effectiveness as a rope instructor derives from his authority, humor, clarity and gentleness.

So you’ve taken the Novice Rope Share class (or other learning facility) and are ready to move on from the basic ties to the Next Step. This workshop will delve into the next level of Shibari harnesses, bondage positions, and arm ties, as well as a more in depth discussion of the psychology of the bottom in those ties. Again, the class is tailored to your interests. Class size is kept to a small circle for friendly experimentation bondage and personal attention.

Novice Rope Share w Lolita Wolf

NY Rope Share Fundraiser

The Rope Share is a bondage workshop that is structured to fit your skill levels and interests. There are three highly skilled, bondage instructors and a teaching assistant. The attendance will be limited to 12 students and divided into three groups so you will get individual attention and tutoring.

If you are a beginner, an instructor will teach you the basics of safety, negotiations, and the elemental ties needed to start your bondage exploration. If you are an intermediate player and are interested in advancing your rope skills, are curious about how to tie a certain harness or position, or want to learn more about body positions and how certain ties affect your bottomâ€™s headspace, this is a perfect environment to ask those questions. If you are an advanced player and want to see how other rope tops tie, how different styles can enhance your own, this is a safe, non-ego space to hang out and play.

Couples are encouraged to attend together, but singles are also welcome as this will be held in a lab environment. Please be open to dance both parts for the sake of the education.

ALL proceeds will be donated to benefit our dear friend and rope bondage enthusiast, as she fights the battle of Lymphoma B cancer. Itâ€™s no secret that I have a ridiculous crush on Lochai, and maybe a part of it is because I fell in love with his work as an artist. On top of all that I got to actually meet him yesterday and put my hands on hisâ€¦ prints (I know what you thought I was going to say!)

I know a lot of my readers are people who share my opinion about Lochaiâ€™s erotic and bondage images and also share my belief in supporting the art and the artists they love. Lochai has a few gallery shows coming up. He talks about them in the interview we did recently here. In response to my question about his upcoming gallery shows, in particular the exhibition at the World Erotic Art Museum in Miami Beach, FL, this is what he had to say:

Wowâ€¦. To hang in a Museum is an amazing thing. To hang in this Museum is even a greater compliment in that the owner/curator, Naomi Wilzig, does not normally collect photography & has only just started to. She has thousands of painting, sculptures and other various articles that have moved her over the years and only a few photographs including ones from a good friend of mine, BT Charles. She has had many one person displays exhibited in the galleries in the 3 years WEAM has been open, but she asked me to be the first photographer. I am also a local so this adds to the pride I feel. Art gallery shows are wonderful but to say that you are displayed in a museum, for me that is something I am very proud of. I will also have Beach Bound added to the permanent collection. I was also the first heterosexual male artist to have a special â€œGuest Galleryâ€ show that lasted a year of 30 of my images in the Leather Archives & Museum in Chicago http://www.leatherarchives.org/ which just came down in May.

So now here we are, itâ€™s almost time for Lochaiâ€™s big show and now itâ€™s time for me to get involved in the only way I know how.
