Together, we’ll be talking about personal experiments and explorations of sex online (yes, the dirty stuff), the pleasures and dangers the Internet puts at women’s fingertips, the emergence of a new online sex culture that is becoming increasingly available to women, and of course we’ll be answering any questions that the audience has… that’s actually my favorite part. MoSex is at 233 Fifth Avenue at 27th street – so come experience the weirdness of me talking about my book in the space of my former employer.
Tickets are $10, $8 for students and seniors, and you can get them ahead of time at the museum, by calling 212.689.6337 x115 or at the door the night of the event.
NEW YORK, NY April 2nd –The 24th annual Leather Pride Night Auction will take place on Saturday, June 16th, 2007. This year the festivities will be at Splash! at 50 W. 17th Street. This will be a new venue for the event, as the Roxy nightclub is being demolished. SPLASH!’s doors will open for LPN at 6:00 PM, and the auction will run from 7 PM until 10:00 PM. Liquor, beer, wine and soft drinks will be provided at a cash bar. Light finger food will be served. A sign language interpreter will be present during the non-auction segments of the evening. This year, as every year, there will be a team of bootblacks to keep your boots and shoes looking sharp. All tips go toward the event’s total for the beneficiaries. A very special silent auction is planned, but because of space concerns there will be no LPN flea market.
Leather Pride Night is sponsored by nine NYC S/m-leather-fetish organizations:
Gay Male S/M Activists, Imperial Court of NY, Iron Guard BC, Lesbian Sex Mafia, MAsT Metro NY, MetroBearsNY, New York boys of Leather (NYboL), Pariah’s MC, The Eulenspiegel Society and many committed individuals.
Tickets for Leather Pride Night are $15 in advance, and $20 at the door. Paypal payment is available at the LPN website www.leatherpridenight.org. Tickets can also be obtained at any of the sponsoring organizations or the beneficiary organizations, as well as the following supporting commercial venues: David Samuel Menkes Custom Leatherwear, Purple Passion/DV8, London, Paddles, The Leather Man, The Noose, Passional, Rubio Leather, Nasty Pig, Le Chateau Exotique, New York Fetish Corp.
The Leather Pride Night Committee is dedicated to promoting freedom of sexual self-expression, and actively works to improve the image and understanding of S/m and fetish lifestyles.
The Leather Pride Night Committee meets on the first Thursday of the month (October through June) at 8:00PM at the LGBT Center, 208 West 13th Street.
There is no photography or cellular telephone usage allowed at the event. For press entry and/or to receive official photography from the event, please contact Darrell at darrellblackandblue@yahoo.com

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – Amsterdam’s sex workers came to work early on Saturday to offer a free look at the city’s famed red-light district.
Hundreds of wide-eyed visitors queued in the sunshine to enter the dimly-lit sex clubs and peep shows that draw thousands to the city and to snoop around prostitutes’ neon-lit boudoirs.
“I think the open day is a great idea,” said Love, an erotic dancer at Amsterdam’s Banana Bar, who was on hand to answer questions and pose for photographs in fluorescent negligee.
“It is especially interesting for women. If they learn what we do here they will realize it is not a big deal if their husbands or boyfriends want to come here.”
Organisers staged the open day to counter bad publicity surrounding the 800-year-old district after harrowing reports of forced prostitution, human trafficking and organized crime.
More than 30 brothels are fighting closure after officials revoked their licenses last year over suspected links to money laundering and drug dealing.
But tourism authorities say the district — a warren of narrow alleys and canals lined with sex shops, brothels and neon signs – - is as big an attraction as Amsterdam’s art museums and coffee shops, where marijuana is freely smoked and sold.
Every night visitors throng the streets, agog at scantily clad women sitting behind huge red-lit windows, and who sell their services for as little as 50 euros ($66.58).
“I am here because my wife was interested in coming along,” said 63-year-old Evert Rijnders from Haarlem.
His wife Jos added: “This has been a chance to look behind the scenes, and some things have definitely surprised me.”
Organizer Jacco Wanders displayed a typical prostitute’s bedroom, usually concealed behind red velvet curtains and fitted with an emergency alarm bell in case a client turns violent.

‘Rufus Sings Judy’: Rufus Wainwright at the Olympia, Paris
Originally uploaded by viviane212.
I can find any excuse to go to Paris. This time it was so Jefferson and I could hear Rufus Wainwright sing ‘Rufus Loves Judy’ at the legendary Olympia. Rufus had vocal problems (NO high notes and couldn’t adjust his tessitura to sing down an octave), but he was much more comfortable with the music. The Paris audience didn’t seem to know Judy Garland’s music and the great american songbook like the Carnegie Hall audience did, but they gave him a standing ovation. Lorna Luft (‘sa mere est Judy Garland’) got a solo encore, and knocked it out of the park.
We saw the erotic drawings show at the Rodin Museum, Montparnasse Cemetary and also the Sargeant/Sorolla show at the Petit Palais. And we ate, and ate, and ate. Now, I need a wheelbarrow for my belly!
Bonsoir sweeties, the jet lag has done me in.

MUMBAI, Feb 9 (Reuters Life!) – This is India’s version of sex in the city.
A rare sex museum in Mumbai, the country’s teeming financial capital, is drawing hundreds of prostitutes and their regular clients who say they learn more about HIV/AIDS from its graphic exhibits than staid lectures on safe sex.
Antarang, which means intimate in Hindi, is a one-room exhibition of nude statues, models of the human anatomy and illustrations near a well-known red light district in Mumbai. And it is India’s only sex museum, according to its management. (more...)
