boymeat LSM Presents: Surviving Corporal 101 with Boymeat

Meeting open to all genders

Presented by Lesbian Sex Mafia

How to Handle the Physical and Emotional Effects: Pain is a very complicated thing, and creates a myriad of responses in the body. There is the physical side (Ow, fuck! Jeez, how can he take that!) Then there are the emotional effects; the multitude of emotions and thoughts that go through one’s head through pain. Processing pain, while so simply stated in this world, is actually quite difficult at times. In this class we will talk about how to handle the pain both inside and out. We will explore why we endure it, where it takes us and what we can get out of it.

Date:  Fri, November 19, 8pm – 10pm (In the spirit of community, it is an LSM tradition to open up our November meeting to all genders.)
Location: The LGBT Center, 208 W 13th St, NY
Cost:  LSM member: $5;  Non-members $10

About Boymeat

Boymeat, is a 31-year-old native New Yorker.

Discovering The Eulenspiegel Society (TES) at the age of 19, he quickly became an active participant and presenter in the New York SM scene. A former TES board member, he also holds memberships with the Gay Male SM Activists (GMSMA), the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF) and the Leather Archives & Museum. He is also an associate member of the New York boys of Leather and active with New York’s Leather Pride Night Committee.

Best known for his outreach to the younger members of our community, he co-created the concept of The Next Generation (TNG), specialized groups serving young adults between the ages of 18 and 35 who are interested in SM. Boymeat was the co-founder of both TES-TNG and GMSMA-TNG, groups that helped kick off the national TNG movement. He also helped organize the first 3 national TNG conferences – Chickenstock in 1999, Second Coming in 2002, and TNG3: BDSM in the Big City in 2003. He has presented on TNG and other issues at multiple Leather Leadership Conferences.

Known as a SM educator, he has taught at almost every major educational event in the United States. He has taught SM, role play, fetishes, and relationships at TES Fest, Black Rose, South Plains Leather Fest, Dungeon 701-901, Portland Kinkfest, and many others. He has also been asked to teach to students at New York University and Columbia University. Finally, he presented keynote speeches at SM Odyssey’s Folsom Fringe 2007, Rio Grande Leather 2007, and TNG4: Bound for the Bay in 2008.

Boymeat is honored to have experience on the title circuit as a judge both at Ms. World Leather 2006 and South East Leatherfest 2007. In addition, he appreciates the chutzpah it takes to run for a title, having run for Gotham Leatherman 2000. His latest and greatest honor has been being asked to serve as Tallymaster at International Mr. Leather 2008.

A bisexual, polyamourous switch, with a penchant for foot fetishism, incest role play and piss play, Boymeat is rumored to be the quite the sadist. An aspirational handcuff collector and leather history slut, he is the man who nerve.com said “makes the Marquis de Sade look like Pat Boone.”

Call for Entries – CineKink 2011

CineKink –”the kinky film festival”–is seeking films and videos, of any length and genre, that explore and celebrate the wide diversity of sexuality. Dedicated to the recognition and encouragement of sex-positive and kink-friendly depictions in film and television, we’re looking to blur some boundaries and will be considering offerings drawn from both Hollywood and beyond, with works ranging from documentary to drama, camp comedy to hot p*rn, mildly spicy to quite explicit–and everything in between.

Cutting across orientations, topics covered at CineKink have included–but are by no means limited to–BDSM, leather and fetish, swinging, non-monogamy and polyamory, roleplay and gender bending, sex work and sex geekery. Basically, as long as it involves consenting adults, just about anything celebrating sex as a right of self expression is fair game. (Far be it from us to define “kink” – if you think your work might make sense in this context, please send it along!)

Scheduled for its eighth annual appearance March 1-6, 2011, the specially-curated CineKink NYC will also feature a short film competition, audience choice awards, a special adult entertainment showcase, presentations, parties and a gala kick-off event, with a national screening tour to follow.

Discounted, early-bird entries have a post-marked deadline of November 5th, while the regular deadline is November 26th and the final deadline is December 10th.

For more information and to download an entry form or submit via Withoutabox, visit http://cinekink.com/programs-and-events/call-for-entries/.

On Making Sex Last: Cheerleading & Open Relationships - as long as the possession stuff can be fun and consensual, and not interfering with each other’s sovereignty, I think the two—cheerleading and possession—aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive.

Mission Statement
The Perverts of Color anthology is a collection of voices from people of color (POCs) who participate in alternative sexual and relationship practices which include but are not limited to: S&M, D/s, leather, kink, fetishism, polyamory, and swinging. “Pervert” is a term that society projects onto our bodies and our desires. We use “pervert” both to acknowledge the rejection and stereotyping we face, and to redefine the word on our own terms.

Our Intent
a) celebrate the experiences of US racial/ethnic minorities navigating alternative sexualities;
b) recover hidden histories and recognize the contributions of POCs to alternative sexuality rights and culture;
c) share stories about ways POCs have resisted dominant narratives about their sexuality; and
d) create possibilities for coalition and resistance for kinky POCs.

Call for Submissions
The voices of US racial minorities in alternative sexual communities are important but often unheard. If you are a POC (“pervert of color”) who has been or is involved in the kink/poly community, the Perverts of Color anthology needs to hear your story.

We are accepting non-fiction essays (1,500-5,000 words) related to the theme of the intersection of race and alternative sexual practices. New authors are welcome. Fiction, erotica, and poetry are not accepted. The Perverts of Color anthology is intended as a multi-ethnic, multi-racial collection, so we encourage all POCs to submit their stories. We invite POCs of all genders, ages, religions/spiritualities, sexual orientations and socio-economic backgrounds. All authors will keep the copyright to their submission, have a printed biography, and receive one copy of the completed book.

Contact Us
If you are interested, email us at pervertsofcolor@gmail.com with a one-paragraph summary of your essay (250 words maximum) and a short bio (250 words maximum). All submission summaries are due by December 15th at 12 midnight (Eastern Standard Time). We will contact authors individually to express interest in a complete submission.

  • Dr. Logan Levkoff: Sex Educators Unite to Support University Sex Weeks | Huffington Post – Though Brooks appeared to be concerned for students' and colleges' reputations, she offers no voice for the student organizers of these events or their faculty supporters (and hints at no discussion with them either). In an effort to present their voices, I reached out to sex educators, college student groups, and faculty members from various universities. Every educator and group contacted was frustrated by Brooks' mischaracterization of their events and their work. Many of them were outraged that the individual leading the charge against sex-themed programming was an economics professor with no experience in sexuality education. We decided to respond and together composed a Letter to the Editor of The Chronicle of Higher Education. It was sent it to the editors on September 16th.

  • Why Folsom St. Fair is Fun, Sexy and Important | Charlie Glickman – One of the key pieces of sex-positivity can be summed up by the acronym YKINMKBYKIOK, which stands for “Your Kink Is Not My Kink But Your Kink Is OK”. Once you realize that your turn-ons and your squicks come from within you, once you realize that it has less to do with what someone else is doing or saying than you think, you can discover much more sexual freedom within yourself.

Dov will be presenting for one hour on Crazy Glue Invisible Bondage and Infibulation!

Crazy glue is steeped in the depths of urban legends of late night rushes to the emergency room to unglue hapless victims who didn’t heed the warning on the label: “WILL BOND SKIN INSTANTLY.” This class is about demystifying this fun pervertible for mindfucks. We will discuss and demonstrate many wonderful perversions with this super-strength glue for bondage. We will also cover safety issues, some theory/chemistry of its function, and its intended medical usage.

Afterwards, we will have three 20-minute presentations, KinkForAll-style, by participants from the audience! Just show up — no need to sign-up!

It has its own community, priorities, protocols, rituals, honors, awards and social constructs. It is a subset of the overall LGBT community, but does not necessarily “represent” that entire community in the sense that not all LGBT folks relate to the court system or its adherents. They might attend a court event or mix socially with court members and winners, but that doesn’t mean they relate to them personally whatsoever. That’s not a judgment, just an observation.

pleasure in pain LSM Presents: Fishnets and Furry Handcuffs: The Perception of Kink in Popular Culture with Leila

Where: LGBT Center, 208 West 13th St. (7th/8th Ave)
Cost: $5/LSM members, $10/Non members
Presented by Lesbian Sex Mafia

What happens when kink becomes commodified?

This presentation explores how contemporary popular culture portrays BDSM (for better or for worse) and what happens when kink comes out of the dungeon and on to prime time. From “Wonder Woman” to “Family Guy”, kink has been a part of our cultural vocabulary for decades. We’ll take a look at and talk about how kink has effected the media and how
the media effects us.

About Leila

Leila is a graphic designer who has worked in corporate branding for the past 15 years, but has been a pervert for far longer than that. Her blog Kink+Culture is devoted to the exploration of BDSM in art, design, and popular culture. She has presented at Kink For All NYC and has been active in the New York BDSM scene for about 3 years. When she’s not making the world a more beautiful place one logo at a time, she gets hit with stuff for fun.

About LSM
LSM is a support and information group for all women 18 years of age or older, including transexual and intersexed women who live their daily lives as women and all female-born transgender people who feel they have a connection with and respect for the women’s community. And, who are interested in fantasy and role playing, bondage, discipline, S/M, fetishes, costumes, alternate gender identities and uninhibited sexual expression in a safe, sane, consensual and confidential way.

Stuck – Since I first saw the picture he sent me I have had this visual stuck in my head, like a sweet thing lingering in the mouth…. wrists bound, tied to headboard–ankles bound, tied to baseboard– naked, exposed

Animalistic - I grabbed the back of your ponytail like I owned you. No protest. Only a moan. Fuck, how aroused were you? Even your kiss was desperate, wet, passionate; your body was on fire and it showed.

A Hot Afternoon – She took Grady’s hand and guided it between her legs. Grady’s instinct kicked in as soon as she touched Hatty’s tender clit and felt the wetness gathered there.

Confessional: Fixation/Addiction – In porn, both video and photo, I have little interest in the men. It’s the women who get my full attention, who arouse me. I seek them out. I flick past hetero couplings, bored. Blow jobs? Meh. Oh wait, close-up of her pussy? Her coming? Ok I’ll watch now.

Thanks for the mansplanation, but I greatly prefer my vibrator – His views on female masturbation (derived, clearly, from absolutely nothing legitimate) are so fucked up, so irritating, and so detrimental, that I want to punch him in the face. It is, truly, mansplaining at its finest.

Negotiation – Not Nearly As Awkward As Having a Breakdown in Public – All the worries about getting to know a new person (“Am I dressed ok? Are they gonna like my stories about my grandma?”) get exaggerated when you’re talking about sex and desire…

Dollar Store Domme – He definitely can’t elude the dollops of toothpaste I dab onto his nipples. It takes a delicious second before he feels the cool burn penetrate his flesh. By that time I’m already up and selecting a plastic spatula from the credenza.

The Best of Both Worlds or Lost in Limbo? – Whether intentional or unthinking, bisexual denial is a frustrating thing for bisexual, pansexual or ‘fluid’ people to have to deal with.

Navigating Genderqueer in Suburbia – But pray tell how do the rest of us navigate it? How the hell am I supposed to know if you identify as male or just like dressing like one?

The Daddy Issue: Sexualizing Abuse – I needed to walk through this fear, and turn it into pleasure. I needed to prove to myself that he hadn’t broken me. That he hadn’t changed who I was to become. That I was not affected by what he did. That he didn’t abuse me.

mollenawilliams 216x300 Mollena Williams NYC Tour

Mollena Williams. Photo by Colm McCarthy

NYC is lucky this week, because my friend, West Coast based kinkster and educator Mollena Williams, is in town. These are workshops you’d otherwise have to travel to national conferences to see, so take advantage of her presence here, and go!

Here’s her schedule:

Tuesday, March 16
TES Presents: RACE: The Final Frontier”

The idea of playing into stereotypes and bigotry, of doing scenes that recall horrors from the darkest moments of history is, in many folk’s opinion, best left alone. But…for those who are drawn to explore deeper crevasses of our psyche, the desire to explore that taboo can be compelling. Even if you’re not desirous of acting on these fantasies, taking charge of them and letting go of guilt can be an amazing release. Should you decide to act on these fantasies, you’ll get tips on how to approach this edgeplay, what to do if things do not fall out as planned and the pros and cons of doing these scenes in public venues. Expect the unexpected and prepare to surprise yourself.

LSM presents: Taboo Play, and Working Through Extremes

If you have ever had a scene that lured you with the promise of edgy intensity, but wondered if you could handle the situation before, during or afterward, this discussion is for you! We will explore the reasons some people enjoy play that is VERY edgy psychologically, emotionally and physically, and how you can go about making that fantasy a reality. Inherent in this discussion is the level of responsibility of both / all partners, how to manage risk, and how you can support your partner in the aftermath. Edgy play can be hot, and we will look at ways to avoid some common pitfalls, as well as how to recover with grace and honor when things go off of the planned path.

Instigate NYC: Strong Slaves, Bodacious Bottoms & Ass-Kicking Submissives: Embracing Dichotomy

Self-identification is difficult for anyone in the alternative lifestyle. It can be even more challenging for people who see themselves as strong in their lives but desirous of submission. There is a great deal of pressure in the BDSM community to “seem submissive,” so what do you do when you see yourself as strong and fierce and yet crave mastery and domination? Believe me, you are not alone. There are many submissives and bottoms and slaves who are strong and independent and finding their way through the maze of the Kink Community! This class is an intense discussion of self-assessment personal identification, passion and power. From those who struggle with their desire to submit, to those who strive for greater strength of purpose, this class will be a wonderful opportunity to bond with the likeminded and suss out your strength in an open setting. And for tops, dominants and masters, this is an excellent opportunity to get into the mind of those who are strong and embrace the dichotomy of strength in submission and freedom in slavery!
