I would post more complete post excerpts, but I’m nervous about blogging from work, and typing my domain name into my browser window. I don’t know if my traffic is being monitored. And I’m pretty careful about scrubbing any computer I’ve been working at.
Work and other stuff is in full swing, and I’ve got a bunch of plates in the air right now. And some nice things are happening as a result of camp, some personal, some professional

One night a few years ago, my marriage almost could have changed forever. Laura went to a dinner party, leaving me to change diapers and put the baby to bed. Afterward, I got stoned and watched whatever was on HBO, expecting her home around her usual landing time of 10, or maybe 10:30. But the hours dragged along, and I got tired. So for once, I went to bed before my wife.
When she stumbled in the door, around 1:30 am, I’d already been asleep for a couple of hours. The roles had thoroughly reversed. She collapsed on the bed. Much to my surprise, she was sobbing.
“What’s going on?†I said.
“I’m so confused!†she said.
“Why?â€
“There were so many good-looking women at the party, and they were talking about sex.â€
“That sounds nice.â€
“I got really horny.â€

September 19, 2007 – New York, NY – Susan Wright and Larry Iannotti would like to announce the launch of the second national Survey of Violence & Discrimination Against Sexual Minorities, being conducted in cooperation with the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom. This survey includes all of the questions asked on NCSF’s ground-breaking 1998 Violence & Discrimination Against Sexual Minorities survey, and includes new questions on personal, business, and Internet discrimination experienced by BDSM-leather-fetish practitioners.

Please take a minute to fill out this anonymous survey even if you have not been a victim of violence or discrimination. Demographic data and information about participation in a variety of BDSM-leather-fetish activities are also being gathered. This survey will be distributed for one year, and the results will be released in early 2009.
The results of this survey will be analyzed and compared to the 1998 survey, which found significant discrimination and violence occurring against BDSM-leather-fetish practitioners. The data may be used in court obscenity cases to prove that sexual minorities have been chilled on the Internet because of fear of prosecution. The survey also includes space for individuals to write about the discrimination they have faced, which will be helpful in illustrating the consequences of the negative stereotypes about BDSM-leather-fetish activities.
The survey is available on Survey Monkey (a secured survey hosting website that is used by the professional community) and can be accessed through the NCSF website: www.ncsfreedom.org You can contact surveybdsm@gmail.com to receive hard copies for your event or to distribute to your members.

I’ve been doing this sex-news blogging thing for a good while now, and the porn thing for even longer, and some of the items that I’ve seen in that time boggle the mind and defy any chance at rational description. Over time, you mostly lose the ability to be shocked, and you develop thick, heavy intellectual and emotional callouses.
Those callouses are why it’s extremely rare nowadays that, with mouth gaping and synapses firing at random, I am overwhelmed with that perverse and strangely satisfying mix of disgust and prurient amusement at something that I find on the internet. It’s memorable every time it happens: The first time I saw the Goatse man. That one midget gangbang video. The twin-transexual-dominatrices and their bizarre forklift/latex/ass-dart tableau. And now this.
Behold. The end times are surely nigh.

Idaho Republican Larry Craig resigned Saturday from the U.S. Senate in the wake of a sex scandal that caused party leaders to ostracize him.
“It is with sadness and deep regret that I announce it is my intent to resign from the Senate Sept. 30,” said Craig in a news conference in Boise.
“In doing so, I hope to allow a smooth and orderly transition of my loyal staff and of the person appointed to take my place,” he continued.
Idaho Gov. C.L. Otter attended the news conference but did not immediately name a replacement for the remaining 15 months of Craig’s term in the Senate. (more . . )
Miss Vera’s Finishing School for Boys Who Want to Be Girls once again takes the lead in education with its offer of Amazing Grace: How to Walk, Sit & Pose in High Heels, a class for all women to be held at 7:30pm on Wednesday, October 3rd and again on Thursday, October 11th. By the phrase, all women, academy founder, Veronica Vera means women who’ve lived in that gender all of their lives, as well as transwomen, those who were raised as men but who transition to female, whether for a day or for a lifetime.
“For years non-trans women or “genetic girls”, to use a popular term, have been clamoring to attend the same classes as the crossdressers and other transgendered adults who come to my Academy”…especially the high heel class” says Miss Vera. “We all want to get rid of the clomp in our clip, and a bent kneed “spider walk” is not attractive,” she says, speaking of some of the pedi-problems the course will address.
Sex-based reality television shows may not be the shocking new idea that they were a couple of years ago, but the new Colombian program “Los Pichones”, produced for the Kamasutra cable channel, pushes the envelope a bit. The show’s concept is simple — at the end of each show, the contestants that have the most boring sex get voted off, while the most obscene or scandalous couple wins a prize. The last couple standing wins the grand prize, which isn’t specified anywhere I’ve seen but is hopefully something super-exciting.
A lot of the stunts or challenges presented seem kinda fun: Renting a truck and having a little road-nookie, having sex in front of a group of your friends or putting on a little S&M vignette. Hell, most of that sounds like a week in the life of some of our very own Sex Carnival contributors. But the challenge that involves having sex in a barnyard, surrounded by animals and rolling around in pig-, chicken- and/or horseshit… Well, it sounds a little more Fear Factor than I think most folks would be strictly comfortable with either doing or watching. Call me a Puritan if you will, but I think that there are places in the human body that pigshit just shouldn’t go.

She’s had a busy, busy summer. She’s just finishing up an internship at Nerve.com, and is now blogging for Nerve’s video blog. I liked to think she learned some of this while blogging here.
