JRE tied down Jersey Rope Experiment presents Tied Down!

A single day of rope classes, close instruction and a party to cap it off.

We have three great presenters, Lqqkout, Lochai, and Graydancer. They will each teach a class and they will each hold office hours so you can ask them more in-depth questions and get more directed learning.

The event will take place in central/north jersey. It will run from 10am until 6 pm with a break for lunch. Then a play party will happen afterwards at 8PM.

Tickets can be purchased online or in person at a reduced cost (no service fee). We will be selling the tickets at October’s JRE meeting as well as at pre-determined events/munches/parties (keep your eyes peeled on our forum).

Attendance will be capped to 60 people.

Additionally: JRE Board Members will be offering 101 level instruction for those just starting out or those who want to brush up on the basics.)

Classes offered (in no particular order):

LqqkOut

Finding Your Style

I know I put it here somewhere… – Interactive Demo

Shibari, Western, Japanese Style, Damsel in Distress, Bedroom Bondage – these terms are often used to describe different types of rope bondage, but what do they really mean for your playstyle? This workshop will begin with a discussion of the various dimensions of bondage styles including sample images and ties followed by a hands-on lab where we’ll explore the bondage styles or reconstruct as many ties as we have time for. Participants are encouraged to bring at least four 30-foot lengths of 6mm (1/4″) rope and their imaginations.

Lochai

Hogties

From classic wrist-to-ankle ties to full immobilization ties, this class will go over various ways to bind your partner in the most recognized position in bondage. The hogtie is on of the first ties many people learn when exploring bondage and it stays with you at every level. From Damsel in Distress (DID) to Japanese versions there will be something for every body type and flexibility level.

Graydancer

TIE ‘EM UP & FUCK ‘EM: Rope Bondage for the Impatiently Kinky

“I don’t do rope; it takes too long!” It’s a common refrain heard from people all over. This class aims to dispel that myth, with practical, speedy, and above all erotic techniques to bring rope into your kink. Fast body harnesses to improve your fucklife, methods of handling rope in a sensually effective way, and ideas for to keeping a scene hot from the first wrap to the last tangled ropegasm on the floor. Graydancer, host of the long-running Ropecast on the internet will share all the Great Secrets of Rope in his irreverent and engaging style. Whether you’re an experienced rigger, just took Basic Bondage, or are just curious about this whole “rope” thing, this class will have something in it to help you tie or be tied.

cinekink300x200 Submit to Cinekink! Call for Entries CineKink/2012CineKink –”the kinky film festival”–is seeking films and videos, of any length and genre, that explore and celebrate the wide diversity of sexuality. Dedicated to the recognition and encouragement of sex-positive and kink-friendly depictions in film and television, we’re looking to blur some boundaries and will be considering offerings drawn from both Hollywood and beyond, with works ranging from documentary to drama, camp comedy to hot porn, mildly spicy to quite explicit–and everything in between.

Cutting across orientations, topics covered at CineKink have included–but are by no means limited to–BDSM, leather and fetish, swinging, non-monogamy and polyamory, roleplay and gender bending, sex work and sex geekery. Basically, as long as it involves consenting adults, just about anything celebrating sex as a right of self expression is fair game. (Far be it from us to define “kink” – if you think your work might make sense in this context, please send it along!)

Scheduled for its ninth annual appearance in February 2012, the specially-curated CineKink NYC will also feature a short film competition, audience choice awards, a special adult entertainment showcase, presentations, parties and a gala kick-off event, with a national screening tour to follow.

Discounted, early-bird entries have a post-marked deadline of October 28th, while the regular deadline is November 18th and the final deadline is December 5th.

  • Curious about Sacred Sexuality or have that general feeling that the intimacy in your life is “missing something” or isn’t “deep enough?”
  • Had ecstatic experiences in the bedroom that border on spiritual or transcendent, but they’re so far and few between that you’re beginning to doubt if they were real at all?
  • Frustrated with your current sex life and really want to “take it to the next level,” but have no idea what the “next level” means, looks like, or how to get there?
  • Want to take a workshop on Tantra or Taoist Sexual Practices, but don’t know where to look or how to find a teacher you would connect with?
  • Perhaps you know exactly what you want to study, but can’t seem to get your partner or friends to stop calling what you’re into “New Age” and “Woo-Woo Mumbo Jumbo?”

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, or if you or your friends think that shame-free, deeply moving sex and mind expanding orgasms are only for people like Sting, then come to the Sacred Sexuality Round-up and see what is possible for YOU!

I saw David Ives’  brilliant play based on the erotic novel, “Venus in Fur” when it played at the Classic Stage Company last year. The demand for the play was so intense, the run was extended twice.  What starts out as an audition for the play about the kinky lovers, slowly and relentlessly evolves as fantasy gradually becomes reality. It also introduced us to the amazing new actor, Tony Award nominee Nina Arianda, who went on to win several awards for this role and also for her work in “Born Yesterday.”

Now it’s opening on Broadway, at the Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC), and will have a limited run until December 18th. British  actor Hugh Dancy will be playing the role of the director originally played by Wes Bentley. Hugh Dancy can also be seen treating women for hysteria with vibrators in Hysteria.

I’m curious to see what the chemistry between Dancy and Arianda will be like. Whether you love theater, or kink, or both, you should really try and see it.  The video is from the photoshoot for the new play.

On the surface it's just boob shots, which some might call demeaning. But we're talking about breast cancer, so it's all good, right? Not really. WTC1 Decade: Riding the Elevator Into the Sky (Anne Sexton)The 9/11 Tribute in Light

By Anne Sexton (1975)

As the fireman said:
Don’t book a room over the fifth floor
in any hotel in New York.
They have ladders that will reach further
but no one will climb them.
As the New York Times said:
The elevator always seeks out
the floor of the fire
and automatically opens
and won’t shut.
These are the warnings
that you must forget
if you’re climbing out of yourself.
If you’re going to smash into the sky.

Many times I’ve gone past
the fifth floor,
cranking upward,
but only once
have I gone all the way up.
Sixtieth floor:
small plants and swans bending
into their grave.
Floor two hundred:
mountains with the patience of a cat,
silence wearing its sneakers.
Floor five hundred:
messages and letters centuries old,
birds to drink,
a kitchen of clouds.
Floor six thousand:
the stars,
skeletons on fire,
their arms singing.
And a key,
a very large key,
that opens something –
some useful door –
somewhere –
up there.
